Ronan Keating announced his radio exit on Thursday morning amid concerns from his fans for his wife Storm’s health. The former Boyzone singer has been a popular fixture on Magic FM for the past seven years, presenting Magic Breakfast alongside Harriet Scott. Despite being one of the station’s most popular voices, Ronan confirmed that he will be leaving the breakfast show later in the summer.
‘I’ve had a hell of a time, it is time for me to hang up my headphones. I’ve had the best time. I’ve learnt so much.
I will miss you all,’ he said. Ronan’s final breakfast show will arrive on July 31, in what is sure to be an emotional occasion for fans of the Life Is A Rollercoaster hitmaker. Explaining his decision to leave, Ronan said: ‘It’s been very difficult to come to this decision.
I have loved every single minute and this has not been an easy decision at all. ‘It was an honour to be in people’s homes, but I’ve missed doing the school run and waking up with my wife in the morning.’ Ronan assured fans that this won’t be the last they hear of him on Magic FM, teasing that he will be hosting the occasional weekend show in August.
