It was a proud day for Sir Rod Stewart as he attended his son Liam’s wedding to his girlfriend Nicole Arkutovich in her native Croatia – at a famous TV spot. The legendary singer and songwriter, 79, watched his son, 29, walk down the aisle with his long-term partner Nicole, also 29, alongside his own wife Penny Lancaster, 58. Sir Rod, who’s been married three times himself and has eight children , beamed with pride as he attended the romantic do, also alongside Liam’s mum – his second wife Rachel Hunter, 54.
And any fans of Game of Thrones will have noticed that the wedding’s location , the Church of St. Ignatius in Dubrovnik, has quite a prominent role in the hit fantasy series. The US show, which ran between 2011 and 2019, filmed its iconic ‘walk of shame’ scene there in 2015, with fans of the show frequently jetting off to Dubrovnik in the years since.
Queen Regent Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Headey, is forced to walk the streets naked in front of an entire city as punishment for crimes committed earlier in the series. The iconic moment is perhaps best remembered for the repeated chant of Hannah Waddingham’s character Septa Unella, who repeats the phrase ‘Shame, shame, shame’ over and over while ringing a bell. Cersei begins her walk at the top of the steps of the real-life church – although TV effects and studio trickery ensure that a fictional cathedral stands atop the steps instead.
The Stewart family walked up those very steps in their gorg.
