Prayagraj: As Prayagraj is gearing to host Maha Kumbh next year, some major roads of the city will get beautified and narrate stories of religion, spirituality and greatness of the Sangam city and the mega religious event. As per the plan, the Prayagraj Mela Authority will beautify 40 roads which also includes their widening. These selected roads will depict scenes and stories related to Maha Kumbh and religious scenes like Sagar Manthan, Ganga Avtaran, Vishnu’s different avatar’s etc.
and would elevate the travelling experience of commuters. “We have selected many roads that will be used by devotees and visitors coming to Maha Kumbh. These roads will get theme-based makeover.
History will be depicted on some while others will display spirituality,” said Kumbh Mela Adhikari, Vijay Kiran Anand. He added that these roads will be made smart and beautiful so that tourism gets a fillip. For example, on the road on which Lal Padmadhar was martyred, the events of his martyrdom will be displayed with concurring dates, so that people can know the story of the brave heart.
Similarly, the scenes of Peshwai and Kumbh will be depicted on the procession routes of the Akharas. Not only the murals but lights also will be based on themes. The roads which have been selected under the ambitious project, include Malaka Marg (from the end of Phaphamau Bridge to Lucknow diversion) Motilal Nehru road (Phaphamau bridge to Balson crossing), Lajpat Rai road to Mazar crossing, Stanley Road (MNN.
