The downtown flags are put up by the Associated Veterans of Loveland. The Sons of American Legion to be exact. The city has nothing to do with them.
I know this, because I am an officer for AVOL. I hope the city knows what they can do with their proposal to increase taxes. It’s bad enough without them chiming in If Project 2025 is allowed to be enacted, it will be the end of our democratic republic, and it will be replaced by an autocratic government.
Now, if you prefer to find this out the hard way, then go ahead. Vote for Trump. I enjoyed the Friday article about the Lone Tree Summer Camp exploring what schools used to be like long ago.
I noticed McGuffy Readers were used, which brought Christian values into the lessons. Are we so advanced now we surely don’t need this in schools today? The society in general is abandoning Christian values, and we can certainly see the disastrous results in society in general. Chaos rules today.
So the Republican do nothing Congress has now passed a redundant law to make it illegal for non-citizens to vote. It already was illegal, but I guess a little gaslighting never hurt. That’s about all they have is illusions.
Maybe they ought to make murder illegal, too. That’d be a good idea. It seems it might be time to hire an outside agency to come in and review the city’s budget.
It just doesn’t make sense that they insist on cutting the police department and parks and the library when they refuse to look at their own internal service.
