Rescuers were last night scrambled to help anglers believed to be in distress on an Anglesey beach. Their cries for help had seemingly been heard in the Moelfre area. A lifeboat crew and others were deployed but the fishermen were able to sort out any problem themselves.

HM Coastguard said the incident was a classed as a "false alarm with good intent". A HM Coastguard spokesman told North Wales Live that it was alerted at 10.54pm last night to a report of "shouts for help" at Traeth Lligwy, or Lligwy Beach, west of Moelfre.
