The Redwood Outlaw Karts season continued Saturday at the Redwood Acres Fairgrounds for their second race of the 2024 season. Redwood Outlaw Karts features six different kart race classes for varying age groups, with anyone from 5-year-olds to adults all being eligible to race. Their 2024 season kicked off last month with the season running through early October, with seven more races on the schedule.
The race on Saturday saw over 20 drivers compete in the various classes on a beautiful day for racing on the North Coast. Saturday saw four of the Redwood Outlaw Karts in action for Point’s Race No.2, with Malachi Johnson winning the main event for the 250/500, Marcus Finney won the Flat Kart main event, Fallon Ludwig winning the main event for Box Stock and Anissa Curtice winning the caged clone event.
While some of the winners were Humboldt County locals, with Curtice and Finney both being Eureka natives. Johnson came from Medford, Oregon to capture the win and he wasn’t the only Oregonian celebrating Saturday as Ludwig comes from Coquille, Oregon proving Redwood Outlaw Karts to be a racing destination for the area. Curtice and Johnson not only claimed the win at the main event but also secured the fastest lap times for their classes with Curtice making her way around in 11.
564 seconds for the caged clone division and Johnson’s best time was 11.241 for the 250/500 division. Phoenix Venza marked the best time for the Box Stock at 11.
