Rebecca Ramirez, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Lorain, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She passed away at Norton Brownsboro Hospital under the care of Hosparus Hospice Health in Louisville Kentucky following a short illness. Rebecca was born in Sahuayo, Michoacan, Mexico on March 18, 1933.

Upon arriving in Lorain in 1959, she quickly found work as a seamstress at Joseph & Feiss in Cleveland. Later, she went to work at Dalton Clothing, before taking early retirement from Moen Incorporated. After retiring, Rebecca continued to dedicate herself to her family, her church and to travelling around the world.



Even accomplishing one of her greatest dreams of visiting the Holy Land. She continued to use her incredible gifts as a seamstress to help others, sewing beautiful holy communion dresses, prom dresses, and traditional dresses for the princesses of Lorain’s International Festival. Her talent for sewing was matched only by her gifts of singing and gardening.

Rebecca’s unshakable faith in God was evident in all she did. She was a very active member of her beloved Sacred Heart Chapel since arriving in Lorain. Rebecca was a member of La Legion de Maria, Movimiento Carismatico, Parish Council, a leader of the Curcillo movement, and sang in the choir.

She also played a key role in the founding of La Sociedad Guadalupana (Guadalupe Society) at La Sagrada Familia in Cleveland forty-nine years ago. Rebecca’s loss will be felt by all .
