CLEVELAND, Ohio — When cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer proposed on Sunday radically different approaches to how Northeast Ohio finances, builds and manages airports and sports facilities, we knew it would be a controversial issue. Some people who have touted regionalism for various issues would see it as another attempt to unite Northeast Ohio’s resources under the banner of sports and travel.

Others would see it as money that would be better suited for other services that are more in line with their own interests. We knew some people would applaud the while others would fixate on the admittedly high costs stadiums and airports. But no matter how readers felt at the end, we wanted to make sure their voice was heard.

At the end of each story, we asked readers to email with feedback on the thought experiment. Response so far as been largely positive, but not uniform in support. Here is what readers are thinking: names are redacted for privacy.

Emails are posted below in their entirety and non-edited. ___________________________________________ Liked the article in the Sunday PD by Lucas Daprile. Here is a thought beside what he presented, why not include regional high speed rail in the proposal to make transport to Hopkins or stadia from surrounding areas more convenient.

Likely this could be done with regional taxation. Just my thoughts. ___________________________________________ Interestibg proposal in theory, but the district probably needs to include Trumbull, Mahon.
