Sunil Lahri, best known for his iconic role as Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana, recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) unexpected defeat in Ayodhya during the Lok Sabha elections. Samajwadi Party's candidate, Awadhesh Prasad, secured a win over BJP’s Lallu Singh in the Faizabad parliamentary seat, which includes Ayodhya. Sunil's Instagram Stories captured his disappointment and provided a historical context for his followers.

In one story, he posted a picture from the famous Baahubali scene where Kattappa kills Baahubali. Here, the imagery was creatively altered with "BJP" written over Baahubali and "Ayodhya" over Kattappa. This visual metaphor suggested a betrayal reminiscent of the shocking twist in the movie.

Alongside the image, Sunil penned a note in Hindi, translating roughly to, “We are forgetting that these are the same Ayodhya citizens who doubted Goddess Sita after she returned from exile. What do you call that person who even denies God? Selfish. History is witness that the citizens of Ayodhya have always betrayed their king.

Shame on them.” In another story, Sunil expressed his disdain more explicitly, writing, “We salute your greatness dear citizens of Ayodhya, you are the ones who didn’t spare even Goddess Sita. We are not shocked that you betrayed the man who made sure that Lord Ram came out of that small tent and was installed in a beautiful temple.

The entire nation will never see you with respec.
