Saturday, June 8, 2024 Qantas passengers traveling through Adelaide will soon enjoy an enhanced airport experience as construction of a new lounge precinct begins this month. The project includes a brand-new Domestic Business Lounge, inspired by Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island, and a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing Qantas Club and Chairmans Lounge. The initial phase of construction will focus on the Qantas Club, slated to open in mid-November, with the new Domestic Business Lounge set to welcome its first guests in mid-2025.
Although the overall size of the lounge area will remain unchanged, a redesign of currently underutilized spaces will increase the total seating capacity by over 10 percent. The design of the new lounge precinct will reflect the natural beauty of South Australia, incorporating elements of the state’s landscapes, culture, and renowned culinary offerings. The lounges will feature furniture, lighting, and natural materials sourced from South Australia, along with fixtures from the Jam Factory and artwork by local First Nations artists.
This redevelopment is part of the airline’s $100 million initiative to upgrade and enhance its global lounge network.
