The pair, who are both keen football supporters, were engrossed in the match between England and Spain when they were interrupted by an unidentified woman wanting to speak with the Prince. The lip reader reported that Prince William seemed quite displeased with the interruption and was overheard muttering one particular word over and over again under his breath, much to the surprise of onlookers, including young George.

This incident occurred as fans watched Spain claim victory over England with a score of 2-1, dashing the hopes of England supporters once again. Nicola Hinkling, the lip reader, told the Mirror : "William wasn't having any of it and said it 'was already requested'. When he sat down, he muttered under his breath the word 'sausage'.
