This Saturday will be an especially busy time on the local trails as many people plan to experience the great outdoors in honour of BC Trails Day. Happening on June 1, this annual celebration involves outdoor recreational events all throughout the province, including one right in Langley. Through a partnership between six different community groups, this Campbell Valley Regional Park event provides an opportunity for people to learn more about local trails while also enjoying a wide range of entertainment.
The Campbell Valley Nature House will host Pat Harrison from Hike BC who will go over proper trail etiquette and share information about the parts of the National Hiking Trail network that extend through Langley and nearby communities. There will also be a variety of crafts, activities, and displays to enjoy as well, including an opportunity to sign up for the National Hiker Award. At the tent nearby, equestrians, dog trainers, and cyclists will be waiting to educate people on how they can best share the trails with other types of users.
Attendees can meet a pony named Little Dude, with a prize wheel also available to spin. The organizers recommend that people park at 20285 8 Ave. and then follow the signage leading them to the red barn, with the event taking place from 1 to 4 p.
m. on Saturday, June 1. This Langley event is just one of more than 60 BC Trails Day happenings, with a full list available at .
