BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio A service department employee called police at 9:40 a.m. June 13 upon seeing a chandelier and large garage light fixture on the ground outside a designated bin at the recycling center.
A review of security camera footage revealed a Bentleyville couple driving up to the bin and placing the light fixtures on the ground, then driving away. Officers contacted the couple -- a man, 70, and his wife, 62 -- and cited them for littering. Their claim that they had left the items there to be picked up by a Facebook “customer” was not substantiated.
Police are investigating the June 26 claim of an Auburn Township man, 49, that someone stole his lottery tickets. He reported that at 12:45 p.m.
June 21, he walked out of the Eagles Club with four lottery tickets tucked into the waistband of his shorts. He believes the tickets slipped out through his pant legs and fell to the ground as he walked, then were picked up by a person he identified. Officers are checking security camera footage and contacting the suspect.
Someone stole the wallet of a Sally Beauty Supply employee from her purse and attempted to use her credit card. The victim, a 23-year-old Aurora woman, reported the theft at 2:15 p.m.
June 16. An Auburn Township girl, 16, received a citation at 3:30 p.m.
June 22 after her vehicle struck another one in the intersection of Chillicothe Road while she was making a left-hand turn. She was cited with failure to yield to traffic while making a turn. EMS check.
