Pokémon Day returned to Dores beach this week, capturing the imagination of more people than ever. Between 60 and 70 people were in attendance for the usual Pokémon quiz and Pokémon hunt around the village, as well as a catch challenge and a new addition to the programme – a Pokéstop where attendees could spin and win a prize. Organiser Claire Stirling said: “It was another great success with new people coming along, as well as some new people too.
“It was certainly just a little busier than last year as all the sheets for the hunt and quiz were used up. “There was some amazing pictures taken with the selfie frames and our characters, Pikachu, Charizard and Pokeball were great hits with the kids, getting lots of pictures. “It’s a great day for Pokémon players to get together, play some Pokémon Go, make new friends and enjoy our beautiful village next to Loch Ness.
“Next year will hopefully be bigger and better again, although I'll need to get my thinking cap on.”.
