The family of a dedicated kickboxer who collapsed and died after a match have paid tribute to the "caring" and "loving young man". Alex Eastwood, 15, from , reportedly suffered a seizure after a fight on June 29, in what his family described as "a freak accident". The Archbishop Beck Catholic College pupil was rushed to hospital with a bleed on the brain and placed in an induced coma before being transferred to The Manchester Children's Hospital for an emergency operation.
