PARADISE — The Paradise Symphony Orchestra is showing its pride for America by hosting two free community concerts July 4. The program is called “Honoring Our Country.” There are two concerts on Independence Day, one at 2 p.

m. and the other at 4 p.m.



The concert is free and will be held at the Paradise Performing Arts Center located at 777 Nunneley Road in Paradise. The orchestra and friends will give a commemorative flag to everyone in the audience. “Enthusiasm for this year’s event is greater than ever,” said Orchestra Conductor Lloyd Roby.

The event includes participation with the Paradise Community Chorus and Friends, the Butte County Scottish Society Bagpipes and Drums and the Paradise Veterans Color Guard, Theatre on the Ridge and several others. Military members and first responders will be recognized and honored with a salute to the Armed Forces and a first responders. There will be singalongs with patriotic songs performed such as “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” “This Land is Your Land,” “America,” “Yankee Doodle” and “This Is My Country.

” But wait, there is more. The concert also includes the “Star Spangled Banner,” “Colonel Bogey” and “America the Beautiful,” among other songs. “There is nowhere this Fourth of July you will be more moved with love and loyalty for your country,” said Roby.
