My friend and I took a trip to Bedford Lodge in Newmarket to indulge in some R&R at one of their spa days. I have not been to this spa before so it was very exciting to try somewhere new and see what they had to offer. With a five bubble rating this luxury retreat, which is just a stone's throw away from Newmarket race course, certainly showed a lot of promise.

On arrival, we were greeted by a wonderful Victorian building surrounded by beautiful gardens, which certainly gave the spa a very grand feel to it. (Image: Charlotte Bond, Newsquest) We were given a short tour of the facilities which included the hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna, experimental showers, a relaxation lounge area, an outdoor rooftop hot tub and the treatment rooms.

The hydrotherapy pool had a few different water experience areas within it such as two waterfall showers, a seating area with bubble jets and what I could only describe as a bubble throne. This was a lovely area situated in a beautifully light and airy room with an elevated ceiling. Next to the pool was some heated seating where you can sit and relax or read a book.

After this we went to the rooftop to try out the hot tub. It wasn’t the warmest of days, therefore the outdoor hot tub was the perfect way to warm us up. There was another outdoor seating area here which you can enjoy during nicer weather.

We enjoyed a one course lunch and a drink in the spa lounge. The menu consist.
