James headlined Lytham Festival on the closing night with a spectacular orchestral performance. Opening the set with 'Magic Bus' and accompanied by Orcha22 Orchestra and the Manchester Independent Voices Gospel Choir, frontman Tim Booth asked the audience; "Are you on board the magic bus? It won't be like normal. It's going to go through all kinds of crazies.

" And true to his word, it did. Booth is a man who loves to add a bit of drama to his performances, from his freaky dancing to his love of crowdsurfing, you never quite know what's coming next. Set against the backdrop of Lytham Green, with its iconic windmill, and the sun setting in the background, the performance went on a journey from the band's back catalogue, peppered with singalong classics and singles from their newly released album Yummy. Then, during the first big hit, something truly magical happened.
