Pittsburg Theatre Company will stage Neil Simon’s beloved classic comedy “The Sunshine Boys” from June 14 through June 23 at Pittsburg’s California Theatre. Related Articles “The Sunshine Boys” is the story of Al (George Doerr) and Willie (Kevin Burns), who, as “Lewis and Clark,” were top-billed vaudevillians for more than 40 years. Animosity between the partners has grown to the point where they haven’t spoken in 12 years.

When CBS requests they appear in a “History of Comedy” retrospective, Willie’s nephew (Michael Wilson), a theatrical agent, attempts to reunite the feuding former vaudevillian greats. This grudging reunion brings the two back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries and laughs. The two men try to remaster their most famous “The Doctor is In” sketch but have much to work out before they are ready to return to the public eye.



Dianna Schepers directs. Other cast members include Leasa Hart as Willie’s nurse, Atessa McAleenan-Morrell as Miss McIntosh the sketch nurse, John Holst as the patient, Ava Duran as Eddie the stage manager and Kyle Jacques as the CBS director.
