The hall in Oakley, near Basingstoke, was adorned with flowers and tinsel chandeliers whilst tables showcased tiny love boxes filled with heart-shaped chocolates. A violinist serenaded eaters who savoured a sumptuous three-course meal including marsala wine chicken and a caramel cheesecake, courtesy of Oakley Hall Hotel's friendly waitstaff. Additionally, Oak Lodge's glass walkway was bedecked with wedding-themed decorations, including images and mementos from residents' and staff's previous matrimonial events, creating a nostalgic vibe.

One resident, Joyce, said: "I very much enjoyed the lunch, it’s amazing that someone has gone through all the effort to create such a beautiful lunch event." Other resident June said: "Thank you for the lovely experience, we even sang along to the violinist’s songs. Alec [another resident] also kindly gave a speech thanking staff for all of their efforts.

" Head of group activities, Terri, and Oak Lodge administrator, Jacqui, said: "It was an elegant and special occasion, a trip down memory lane with a wonderful wedding-themed lunch, thank you to the waiters from Oakley Hall Hotel for kindly coming and helping us serve, a special touch to our fine dining experience.".
