Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have shared a new ‘making of...
’ clip from their ‘Wild God’ album. The new album is out on August 30th , and it finds Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds reconvening once more. According to the Australian songwriter, he began constructing the album on New Year’s Day in 2023.
Sessions took place at Miraval in Provence and Soundtree in London, with guests including Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass, and Luis Almau on nylon string guitar and acoustic guitar. A new album trailer has just gone live, featuring some behind-the-scenes footage. The clip shows Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at work, the intensity of their process writ large on their faces; you can also observe small vignettes of the inter-band relationships, the sense of reliance, and of mutual inspiration as the material takes shape.
It’s also incredibly beautiful – the state of the art studio in Provence is a suitably grand place for such noted sonic splendour. In the words of Nick Cave: “ I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me . It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it.
It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious. There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them.
Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy .” “ Wild God..
.there’s no fucking around with this record. When it hits, it hits.
It lif.
