Designer Amy Anderson pictured with her husband Joel in their London store A Northern Irish fashion designer has opened a brand new store in the heart of Mayfair in London. Amy Anderson founded Kindred of Ireland in 2018 after having just completed a degree in textile art, design and fashion at Ulster University . The idea for the brand came about after Amy discovered a newspaper clipping of her grandmother spinning linen in Moygashel Mill as she was coming up with the concept for her final collection.

Speaking to Belfast Live , Amy said that the name not only speaks to the heritage of the linen industry in Ireland, but to her own family and the items she creates. "Everything is quite oversized and easy to wear but still feels like something you would feel special in.



I try to design stuff that you could wear to a wedding or you could equally wear out for coffee. "It is about creating something special that has an heirloom quality to it so that customers know that it has been really well made. Everything is quite feminine and romantic.
