Police in Dennis, Massachusetts implemented new restrictions for holiday beach-goers due to unsafe conduct in past years. Police said restrictions were implemented at Mayflower, Chapin Memorial and Bayview Beaches on the Fourth of July According to Dennis police, there has been a 100% increase in beach-related calls for emergency services to the three locations since 2019. However, their enjoyment of the beach has been marred in recent years by beach brawls and litter strewn across the shore. "We usually like to take a long walk down the beach. There were cans or beer floating in the water, kids passed out.

It was awful," Paul Manning recalled. The display led to some of their family members reconsidering their annual beach visit. "It got to a point where my sisters thought about not even coming down and renting down here," Laura Manning said.

"It was awful. It was awful, last year was the worst." This year's restrictions limited parking at Mayflower Beach, Chapin Beach and Bayview Beach.
