A new clothing store with an international flair and a new restaurant with Italian cuisine have located in a Connecticut city. The restaurant is Strega, which has expanded to include a new location in downtown New Haven, according to Yale University Properties. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Yale University Properties and the city of New Haven for their invaluable partnership throughout my construction period,” said Strega owner and executive chef Danilo Mongillo.

“As a perfectionist, ensuring every detail met the highest standards was paramount. I am committed to maintaining this standard as I look forward to serving New Haven for many decades to come.” The restaurant is located at 1006 Chapel St.



, next to Claire’s Corner Copia. It also has a location in Milford, and “is one of the Northeast’s only restaurants distinguished twice with a coveted Gambero Rosso ‘Due Forchette’ rating for authentic Italian cuisine,” according to Yale University Properties. “Mongillo is an experienced restaurateur with nearly a decade in the industry, including his award-winning Strega restaurant in Milford,” Yale University Properties said in a statement.

Strega has “carefully sourced authentic Italian cuisine infused with specialty ingredients arriving fresh from Italy weekly. Imported olive oil, black truffle, and fresh buffalo mozzarella from Campania, a region of Naples, are just a few of the ingredients Mongillo curates to craft dishes showcasing Italy’s har.
