A fresh image has emerged of Jay Slater, taken just hours before his mysterious disappearance in Tenerife on Monday, June 17. The photo captures the 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer at a rave on Sunday night, from which he left with two individuals he had just met. Hailing from Lancashire, Jay had travelled to the popular island with pals for the NRG festival.
However, he departed the festival not with his mates but with the pair he had befriended, hStan Kujawaading to an Airbnb located within a mountainous nature reserve. It's understood that after waking up, Jay ventured out alone into the challenging landscape on Monday. As the search intensifies today, teams have been spotted clearing debris from the area.
Police, sniffer dogs, and firefighters are all part of the extensive efforts to locate the missing teen. The treacherous Rural de Teno Park, situated in the island's northwestern region, is notorious for its rocky terrain and unpredictable weather . A particular focus has been placed on the Barranco Madre del Agua river, nestled at the base of a gorge, where searchers prodded through the underbrush with sticks, reports the Mirror .
The last known signal from Jay's phone pinged from Rural de Teno Park. His movements after approximately 8.30am on Monday are shrouded in uncertainty.
