A mum's agonising pain was put down to gallstones by doctors until she received a "heart-wrenching" diagnosis. Mum-of-five Tracy Manrow, from , said she faces "a battle like no other" after being diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer which has spread to her liver. For over a year, Tracy's symptoms were put down to gallstones by medics.
Now, the 47-year-old's family and friends are focusing on one word: "hope". Speaking to the ECHO, close friend, Nicola Davies said: “In January 2023, Tracy’s husband left her. She was depressed, wouldn't get out of bed and had drastic weight loss.
Everyone put it down to the break up. “Then in February we both went on a spa break together and she wasn’t herself. She was terrified of going to the A&E but something wasn’t right.
“She’d had gallstones in the past. She said this was like gallstones but different. She was in agony.
" Worried, Nicola made Tracy go to the doctor. She said: “When I took her to the hospital they put it down to gallstones, gave her some painkillers and sent her home. I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve been to the A&E.
" Last Thursday, after Nicola dropped Tracy off at the hospital, she got back there at 4pm to discover she had been moved to the medical assessment unit. She said: “I was with her in the room when the doctor came in. He told us Tracy had cancer.
