KINGMAN — The spirit of Mohave County Republicans filled the Hualapais on Saturday as the Mohave County Republican Central Committee hosted its 80th Annual Republican Picnic. Considered a crucial event for local politics, hundreds gathered to hear from candidates vying for seats in Congress, the House of Representatives, the U.S.

Senate, and local positions such as county sheriff, county assessor, county supervisor, county school superintendent, school boards, and city councils. Although Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, a candidate for Senate, and Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster, who is running for re-election, were unable to attend due to emergencies, both had representatives speak on their behalf. A central theme of the event was the recent presidential debate on June 27 – the first for the upcoming election between former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden.



The debate stirred strong sentiments between attendees and speakers alike, urging Republicans to unite and ensure a red wave in the upcoming elections. A “battle-tested” Kari Lake, who is running for Senate, addressed the crowd with a call for courageous leadership in Washington D.C.
