Mike Tindall has defended a racy body positive photoshoot starring some women rugby players donning lace lingerie. The husband of Zara Tindall, who is an English former rugby union player and a member of the British royal family , has hit back at the criticism Team GB's Rugby Sevens lingerie campaign has been hit with. Lingerie label Bluebella recently launched their #StrongIsBeautiful campaign, with the photoshoot coming under fire and receiving backlash.
Rugby sevens stars Jasmine Joyce, Celia Quansah and Ellie Boatman were the stars of Bluebella's raunchy campaign to demonstrate how being strong is beautiful. For the snaps, the women were dressed in sexy lingerie made from lace and mesh, with large cut-out sections baring their skin. Amid the launch of the campaign, Bluebella shared: "Female strength, dedication, and commitment are the name of the game in our #StrongIsBeautiful campaign.
The idea that strength and femininity are mutually exclusive is problematic even beyond sports, we seek to demonstrate that they can go hand in hand." They also added: "Ahead of an exciting summer of sport, we asked acclaimed international rugby players Celia Quansah, Ellie Boatman and Jasmin Joyce, to come together and celebrate their strength and dedication to their field. They spoke to us about their proudest moments and the challenges of competing.
" But despite the campaign being positive, it has received a massive amount of backlash from British Olympians Sharron Davies and Mara Yamau.
