British lingerie brand Bluebella launched the latest part of their #StrongIsBeautiful campaign with rugby sevens stars Jasmine Joyce, Celia Quansah and Ellie Boatman dressed in lacy and cut-out underwear ahead of this month's Paris Olympics . The advert strived to highlight that strength and femininity can go hand in hand amid troubling statistics from the 2022 Women in Sport survey, revealing over half of secondary schoolgirls drop out of all sport by the age 16.
The campaign, however, has faced criticism from British Olympians Sharron Davies and Mara Yamauchi on social media. Davies took to social media to brand the advert as 'regressive' and 'shameful'. Now, Zara Tindall 's former rugby ace husband, Mike, 45, has countered the backlash by sharing a post on Instagram that said women have a right to do 'sexy' campaigns, and pointed to the many male sports stars that have done so unscathed.
