Former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher has come out as gay in an emotional social media post. The younger sibling of F1 legend Michael Schumacher, Ralf is known for his time with Williams and Toyota, where he notched up six victories and 27 podiums. After a 14-year marriage to wife Cora that ended in divorce in 2015, the 49-year-old racing star has now revealed his relationship with a man.
His Instagram post featured a photo of the couple gazing at the ocean, captioned: "The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything." The announcement was met with an outpouring of support online, including from German actress Carmen Geiss who expressed her joy for the couple. She commented: "I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH.
You have the best partner, Etienne, you can imagine. After two years you can finally show your love to the world. I have known Ralf for more than 25 years and he has always been a great joy to me.
" Geiss continued, praising Ralf's character and their friendship. She wrote: "Always liberal, a good-hearted person who I can call day and night and above all has always been honest with me in his position. I am happy that I got to be a part of this love and even more happy for the two who searched and found each other, because I also love Etienne deeply.
