After graduating from St. Joseph's High School, he worked at General Electric before getting a job at Canteen Corporation. He retired as a district manager in 1986.
Upon retirement, he and Marie enjoyed the winter months in their beautiful home in Sarasota, Florida. He was a member of the Rotary International for over 45 years, where he served as the district governor for two consecutive years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed doing so as a member of the Mohawk Club in Niskayuna.
He was also a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Blase is survived by his beloved wife Marie A. Mercoglan; his children, Robert J.
Mercoglan and Barbara A. (Steven) Hunter; grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Hunter, Holly Mercoglan, Michael Hunter, Rachel Mercoglan, David (Kellie) Hunter; great grandchildren, Madison and Dylan; sister, Monica (Joe) Barrett; and several nieces. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday June 25th at 10:30 a.
m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd, Rotterdam, NY 12306. He will then be privately interred.
