A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who was stabbed to death on Bournemouth beach. The suspect from Croydon, 20, is accused of killing "loving mum" Amie Gray, 34, on Durley Chine beach last Friday night. He was arrested on both suspicion of murder and attempted murder after Gray died at the scene.

Dorset Police said: "Following extensive enquiries, a 20-year-old man from the Croydon area of London has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder." Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey said: "The investigation has progressed at speed over recent days, which has now led to an arrest being made in London." Personal trainer Gray, from Poole, was attacked at around 11.



45pm on May 24 on alongside another woman, 38. Gray died at the scene but the other victim, also from Poole, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital. Dixey said intelligence and firearms officers worked with the Metropolitan Police to arrest the London man.

"We are continuing to update the loved ones of the woman who tragically died, as well as the victim in hospital, with all the latest developments and our thoughts remain with them," he added. He also urged any further witnesses to come forward. On Sunday, Amie's wife Sian Gray and their daughter paid tribute to her by sprinkling rose petals in the sea.

Sian and the tot looked up at the sky at sunset and told Amie they love her. Posting on Facebook, Sian said: "Sunsets will always remind us of you Amie Gray. Forever lo.
