A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young mum was stabbed to death on a busy beach. Amie Gray, 34, was attacked on Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth , Dorset on Friday and she died at the scene. Another woman, aged 38, was also attacked and she is still fighting for her life in hospital.
Dorset Police has now arrested a 20-year-old, from Croydon in south London , on suspicion of murder. The force put out a CCTV appeal on Sunday, calling for anyone who recognised the hooded man to get in touch with them. A mile-long stretch of the popular beach, which had been busy thanks to the bank holiday sun, was cordoned off by police while they investigated the scene.
Detective Superintendent Richard Dixey said: ‘The investigation has progressed at speed over recent days, which has now led to an arrest being made in London. ‘Officers from Dorset Police intelligence and firearms teams worked together with colleagues from the Metropolitan Police to carry out the arrest. ‘We are continuing to update the loved ones of the woman who tragically died, as well as the victim in hospital, with all the latest developments and our thoughts remain with them.
