AGING eyes can be rejuvenated using three key ingredients in your skincare routine, according to a specialist. Among her tips are easy ways to tighten under-eye bags and brighten dark circles. Rebecca Elsdon is an advanced skin specialist and the owner of the health clinic Re/Skin in Sheffield, England.

Sun, she shared how to maintain a youthful appearance. Elsdon said good skincare needs to be combined with lifestyle habits to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. She shared the best home remedy for smoothing the skin.

“Applying cold compresses can decrease swelling while using eye creams containing caffeine, retinol, or peptides can tighten the skin and improve elasticity,” she said. “Ensuring adequate sleep, reducing salt intake, and staying hydrated also play crucial roles in minimizing under-eye puffiness.” Genetics, health, and lifestyle factors such as a lack of sleep, smoking, sun exposure, and a poor diet can cause dark circles.

“The skin in this area is very thin, making blood vessels and pigmentation more visible,” Elsdon said. “The under-eye area is also relatively immobile, leading to slower circulation. This causes blood to pool in the capillaries, making the area appear darker.

” She said dark circles can be brightened using eye creams that contain ingredients such as vitamin C, kojic acid, or niacinamide to lighten hyperpig.
