St. Bernard’s standout and this year’s Little 4 co-MVP Aaiden Burris will continue his basketball career at the collegiate level with Chabot College, the community college in Hayward, after helping the Crusaders capture the league title this season. Burris was a standout all season long, proving to be one of the top shooters in the county while leading St.

Bernard’s to a 21-5 season, and a perfect 7-0 in league play. Now Burris will join the Gladiators, who finished second in the Coast-North Conference with an overall record of 21-8 with their season coming to a close in the second round of the Northern California Regional against College of the Redwoods. Burris first got on the radar of Chabot while playing for Team Rampage, an AAU team based out of Vallejo, under coach Brandon Bracy.



Chabot started to take notice of Burris as a sophomore. With Team Rampage, Burris played all over the country — Dallas, Texas as his favorite city he got to visit while playing. It wasn’t always easy though, Burris and his family traveled four hours each way down to Vallejo every weekend for practices.

“It was tough but it got me better,” Burris said reflecting on the long car rides to train with Team Rampage. “I’m still very thankful for (my family) for being that dedicated because they understand how much I love the game of basketball, so they’re willing to do whatever it takes for me.” With the connection from Burris’ AAU coach to Chabot, it gave Burris the trust to s.
