A new park opened in Havering last month, but many residents were unaware that it was open to the public. As the British weather teases us with glimmers of sunshine, Londoners are quick to dash to the nearest park to soak up the summer rays. Yet, the new Central Park tied to the Beam Park regeneration project off the busy A1306 New Road in Rainham , could be the new hotspot for locals to enjoy green space over the next few months.

MyLondon chatted with residents in the area to see what their thoughts were on the new park. Bart Krysiak, 32, a construction worker said: “From today, I’ll probably be here every day – it’s my first day in my new job but I’m hoping that I can make the most of the park to break up the working day.” The new central park is described as a large, 2.



5-hectare riverside park but it appeared to be more of a small strip of grassland and MyLondon spoke to local residents who were unaware it even existed despite the grand opening last month. Elliot Theodore, 27, Beam Park resident, said: “This park does make the area look a lot nicer because before, it was just buildings. Though, I would say, it did take a long time for this green space to develop.
