Sir Keir Starmer arrived at Buckingham Palace in a chauffeur-driven car ahead of becoming the third prime minister of the King’s reign. Sir Keir was joined by his wife Lady Victoria Starmer, who works in occupational health for the NHS, and the couple were welcomed by the King and Queen’s principal private secretary Sir Clive Alderton. Also there to greet the couple was Charles’s equerry, Royal Navy Commander William Thornton.
