Careysburg – A joyful gala day celebration for a junior high school turned tragic on Friday, May 30, when a truck traveling from Kakata to Redlight lost control and ran into bystanders, killing three people, and injuring others. Gilead Foundation Junior High School perform in their beautiful costumes. The incident occurred at approximately 2:31 PM in the King Farm Community in Careysburg. Eyewitnesses told FrontPageAfrica that the truck, belonging to Mary’s Meals, a Catholic-run school feeding organization, reportedly lost control.



The driver, in an attempt to avoid hitting the parading students, swerved into the bystanders. The truck, marked MM 100 with license plate C5455, remained at the scene under police watch. Two of the three victims have been identified.

A 15-year-old girl reportedly died instantly, according to a medical report, while eight-year-old Satta Henry died at Remedy Hospital while undergoing treatment. Younger W. Topoe, Officer-In-Charge at Remedy Hospital in Careysburg, informed FrontPageAfrica that Satta Henry succumbed to internal bleeding after being rushed to the hospital.
