Born in Duluth on Oct. 2, 1950, Lana Rae Liljeblad left this world on June 16, 2024 to join her husband Kris of 53 years for more adventures on the other side. Lana graduated from Duluth Central in 1968, and went on to study and graduate from Duluth Business University shortly thereafter.

Lana married her high school sweetheart Kris in 1970 and they began their travels. Lana and Kris moved from Minnesota to Arizona, to Washington, and then to Ohio State. Along the way, Lana raised her family, grew her friendships and her career.



She enjoyed working as a Business Analyst for Mass Mutual Insurance. Throughout her life, Lana loved to read, garden and to care for her beloved family and dogs. Among her many talents were a beautiful singing voice and a knack for cooking and baking.

Together she and Kris were consummate hosts for gatherings of family and friends for the holidays. In their golden years, Lana and Kris were drawn back to Duluth, MN. where they relished life-long friendships, family bonds and a deep sense of community.

Married at 19, Lana and Kris were inseparable and were sustained by a life long love. Lana was preceded in death by her father, Harry Abramson, her mother, Marjorie Abramson, her brother, Grant Abramson, her sister, Sheryll Abram. Lana is survived by her daughter Tara (Tracy) Shearer, Tara’s daughters Gabriella and Rachel, and by her daughter Natasha (Matthew) Kim and Tasha’s daughters Ansley and Ava.

A memorial will be held for Lana at First Lutheran.
