Befitting its location with a marvellous view of the Doha skyline and The Pearl Island, La Marsa serves a gourmet menu of Mediterranean flavours and Middle Eastern classics, plus shisha, all accompanied by sublime sea views. Every Wednesdays, the restaurant hosts a seafood night, dubbed ‘Seafood Around the World’, which we tried last week. The premise is simple: it’s a seafood buffet, so expect a wide selection of international seafood delights.
From refreshing salads and sushi to freshly cooked fish and crustaceans, the spreads were brimming with a variety of flavours and textures that catered to every palate. The buffet offered a diverse range of seafood items that balanced the meal. Salad options like the crisp seaweed avocado salad, tuna carpaccio, and the tangy tomato bocconcini provided refreshing starters, while more substantial options like oven-baked hamour and scallop and fennel salad added depth to the meal.
One of the highlights was the spicy lobster tail, which delivered a satisfying kick. The popcorn shrimp and crumbed fried squid were perfect crunchy sides for the different dishes, especially when paired with the restaurant’s homemade sauces, which added an extra layer of flavour. There was also a pasta station on the spread.
The seafood pilaf rice was also a huge hit, aromatic and packed with succulent seafood. The dessert spread was equally impressive, featuring a selection of sweets that provided a perfect end to the meal. From decadent cakes and pas.
