Cars and car enthusiasts will once again fill Main Street for Kutztown Strong ‘s annual Kutztown Kruizz on July 27. The day begins at 9 a.m.
with registration and staging at Kutztown Area High School, followed by a 10 a.m. parade of the cars down Main Street where they will remain on display for the day.
“The Kruizz offers the unique experience of having a parade of classic vehicles drive down Main Street to the delight of spectators,” Merry Schlegel, Kutztown Kruizz co-chair and Kutztown Strong past president, said in a statement. The car show annually attracts more than 250 cars and several hundred spectators. “In having conversations with car owners, they love being able to park their cars on Main Street for viewing,” said Schlegel.
“The backdrop of the stores and buildings just adds to the feel of being in a special time and place. It’s unique. We’ve also streamlined the registration and provide hospitality in the staging area.
” All proceeds from the Kruizz help the grassroots coalition to continue programs and activities that support the behavioral health and wellbeing of local children, youth and families. “It’s the major fundraiser for Kutztown Strong that brings our community together and helps broadcast our values: kindness, integrity, caring and community,” she said. In addition to viewing vehicles of all makes, models and years, visitors will be treated to many other activities, and, of course, lots of food and shopping.
