Tributes continue to pour in for the victims of a fatal boating accident on a lake north of Kingston over the Victoria Day long weekend that claimed the lives of three people and injured five others. Officials say a speed boat collided with a fishing boat around 9:30 p.m.
on May 18, in the Bucks Bay area of Bobs Lake. Three people between the ages of 21 and 23 died. Ontario Provincial Police identified the deceased as Riley Orr, Juliette Cote and Kaila Bearman, who were all from the Kingston area.
“She was such a bright light with always such a positive outlook,” said Myra Stonier in a Facebook tribute to Bearman , who she said was her niece. “She was such an intelligent person and so energetic. She had so much to offer.
She had the greatest sense of humour. She was such a creative, beautiful young lady and such a beautiful soul. “We are still finding it hard to imagine that we lost her.
” An obituary posted in local outlet Kingstonist on May 22 said Cote, 22, was “the brightest light and left her mark on everyone she met. “She was helpful to those that needed it and so thoughtful,” the tribute added. “She was incredibly proud of her recent accomplishments and was extremely excited to start the next chapter of her life.
