King Charles III's second cousin has become the latest member of the extended royal family to take part in a reality TV show, it was announced on Wednesday. Lord Ivar Mountbatten—a great-great-great grandson of Queen Victoria and second cousin of King Charles—has signed onto the cast of 's reality competition show . Mountbatten made headlines in 2018 when he became the first member of the monarch's extended family to marry a same-sex partner, James Coyle.

He is a father of three daughters from his previous marriage to Penelope Thompson. Their 1994 wedding was attended by Princess Margaret and Prince Edward. Mountbatten is a godfather to Prince Edward's daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, and has taken part in a number of documentaries about the British aristocracy, as well as the 2019 adventure competition show .



Mountbatten's participation in the new season of , hosted by actor Alan Cumming, was announced on Wednesday. He will star alongside former star Dorinda Medley, as well as winner Bob the Drag Queen and wrestler Nikki Garcia. The show sees contestants divided into faithfuls and traitors.

The traitors' goal is to eliminate the faithfuls without being identified. The final contestant standing could walk away with a cash prize of up to $250,000. The show airs exclusively on Peacock, and no official release date for the show's third season has yet been announced.
