Kehlani has been having a busy summer, to say the least. Aside from writing, recording, and promoting their fourth studio album, , out June 21, the singer-songwriter has been preparing for their Las Vegas residency at LIV Nightclub and fundraising with in support of families in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan. Kehlani and the collective have raised $555,000 to date.

Despite their busy schedule, Kehlani still manages to find the time for leisurely activities like and self-care. Prioritizing moments to decompress is exactly why the 29-year-old is able to do at all. “When I’m giving what I’m giving to the world, if I don’t find those moments to restore myself—take a bath or get in the sauna or or any of those things—it makes it a bad time,” Kehlani says.



“I’m just pouring out and there’s no space pour in.” For Kehlani, that means taking care of themselves on the outside too. “Beauty is a pick-me-up that people don’t recognize as one,” the singer says.

“They think of meditation and and things like that, but for me, looking cute is self-care. I have to feel cute for the gym. It just helps me all around.

” It also helps protect their skin, which is essential for someone who loves surfing. “I started surfing and have been so consistently in the sun with the salt water intensifying the sun on your face—you just don’t realize until you’re in third-degree-burn level, peeling on your nose. Then you’re like, Wow, I’ve done all this work, gotten all .
