Julie Ruzek goes about her work and life with the same flair found in the jewelry she loves — jewelry that adds color and a sense of joy to her style. As executive director of Cradle 2 Career, Ruzek believes wholeheartedly in the organization’s mission of community partnerships to improve educational outcomes for young people to help young people. “While I love my job, my family will always take first place,” Ruzek says.
That family includes husband Matt and their two children, plus golden retriever Rudy. “Education and adventure are a huge part of their family’s fabric,” she continued. "We have a goal of visiting all 50 states and many state and national parks along the way.
With Matt as the principal of John Marshall High School, next year three-fourths of the family will be in the same place. Olivia will be a senior and Will a freshman.” Please introduce us to your style.
Classic with an edgy flair. I like taking the classics and adding a few elements, a pop of color or jewelry. I will juice it up with jewelry.
ADVERTISEMENT And a little history? I grew up taking note from my mom. I always watched what she was wearing. I would wander around Talbots with her and think, "Oh, when I grow up, I want to I want to dress just like that.
" What do you hope your style communicates? Confidence with the side of fun. Also that I am approachable. And that I don't subscribe to fast fashion because I really have a hard time believing that it is ever good for the environmen.
