JENNIFER Zamparelli has revealed the "heartbreaking" reason she left 2FM after RTE "couldn't give" her what she needed. The Dublin beauty handed up the mic on her daily radio show this year after a whopping 10 years on air. Jennifer made the difficult decision to leave so she could spend more time with her husband Lauterio and their two kids - daughter Florence and son Enzo .
Despite her gut feeling to quit, the 44-year-old still had a "mini panic attack" when she gave in her notice and described it as being one of the "hardest things" she's ever done. The mum-of-two told VIP Magazine: "Because at the heart of it, I didn’t want to go, I didn’t want to leave my show. And, it was heartbreaking – it really was.
But something had to give and unfortunately, that was it." Jen confessed that RTE couldn't give her the time off she needed this summer to spend time with her children after her husband got a new job. The Dancing With The Stars host said: "Lau has taken the reins for so many years and now he’s on a pretty big job that takes him away; he’s gone 7-7 so I’m single parenting, pretty much.
"He’s very busy and this is his time to fly. I needed more time off this summer and RTE just couldn’t give me that. "Initially when I did take time off back in April because my dad wasn’t well, RTE were amazing: text messages, phone calls, very supportive.
