Debbie Duncan, 55, had said her family's "hearts were broken" after her son's identity was confirmed. His body was discovered in a ravine in the Masca area of Tenerife on Monday after a 29-day search.



Charity LBT Global, which helps families of missing people abroad, is assisting Ms Duncan at this difficult time. Its boss, Matthew Searle, said today: "Thank you very much for the thousands of messages of love and support she [Debbie] has received. She is overwhelmed at the moment but will try to reply to them all in due course" reports the Mirror.

However, the family could face a gut-wrenching wait of at least one week before they can bring the 19-year-old man's body home from Tenerife. Mr Searle said he hoped Debbie would be returning home to the UK on the same flight. Debbie has said in a statement: "I just can’t believe it – we’re here with the embassy staff waiting for an update and now it’s come – the worst news.

I just can’t believe this could happen to my beautiful boy. Our hearts are broken." Footage released by Spanish authorities on Monday showed rescue workers using .
