It’s almost time to get in the car and head through Jamestown to four of the most beautiful gardens for 2024. Members of the Jamestown Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet tour patrons at sites of the Jamestown Garden Tour to check tickets and welcome you to the garden they will host. It’s quite the opportunity to walk through the best of the best yards and gardens in town.
The tour will begin at 4 p.m. and run through 8 p.
m. on Wednesday, July 17. Refreshments will be at The Arts Center downtown from 5:30 to 8 p.
m. Gardens on the tour this year are: Tickets are available for $10 and are available from any AAUW member, The Arts Center, Country Gardens Floral, Comfort, the AAUW Used Bookstore, the Melted Crayon, Dakota Store at Frontier Village and Lloyds Toyota. Tickets on the day of the tour cost $12.
They may be purchased at the ticket outlets before 3 p.m. on tour day and after that will only be available at the Arts Center or the AAUW Used Bookstore.
During the tour hours, they may be purchased at the individual sites. The AAUW fills a role in education and helps with scholarships. Many people help with the AAUW’s goals to promote education and equal rights for women everywhere and the garden tour is one of its primary fundraisers each year.
It’s also one of those summer events that involves the entire city getting to visit private spaces where much love, time and talent has gone into making that person’s special place a work of art. .
