Former Liberal Democrats MP and I'm A Celebrity star Lembit Opik has confessed that he was taunted by pub DJ's during the height of his career ITV show helped pull him out of a deep depression after he lost his seat to the Tories in the General Election in 2010. Following his split from TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd, Lembit embarked on a romance with Gabriela Irimia - one half of kitsch Romanian pop duo The Cheeky Girls. Gabriela, now 41, appeared on the reality talent show Popstars: The Rivals back in 2007.

Along with twin sister Monica, she rendered the judges speechless with Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum). Following Lembit's split from Sian, the TV star came out and accused the politician of cheating on her with the Cheeky Girl. Back in 2012, Sian told Evening Standard: "His affair is like something out of a pantomime.



They've been together for two months and I called off our engagement a couple of weeks ago, so you do the maths. "I found out about it from a mutual friend. Lembit was the great love of my life - I would never have agreed to marry him otherwise.

But evidently he just isn't capable of an adult relationship. He's fond of soundbites and celebrity. I feel more sorrow than anger towards him.
