Britain's Got Talent finalist Alex Mitchell was praised for his 'gentlemanly' behaviour after stopping the show to pay tribute to a disability rights campaigner on the live show. The primary school teacher from Leeds, who has autism and Tourette's, gave an incredible comedy routine during the final of the ITV show on Sunday night. Alex was one of the last two acts to make it through to the final after a tense semi-final show on Friday after winning the most public votes for his stand-up routine which saw him poke fun at his autism and tics.
Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges were suitably impressed by the performance, telling him: "I think of all the contestants whove made the biggest step up from their auditions, it's you. "I genuinely believe this is, we always wish for great things to happen to all the contestants. And I really believe on the back of this you're going to have your wish, which is a really, really successfull career doing comedy.
" And Simon addressed his former bullies, telling the comedian: "All those people who said mean things, tell them - and it rhymes - with duck, off."
